My Flight in a T-34 "Mentor"

Starting in the year 2000, I had been walking the dogs at Spanish Landing Park, near Lindbergh Field. I've met a number of the other regulars, including Frank Morris, who was a member of the North Island Naval Air Station Flying Club (which I can actually see from my house). He invited me along on a flight in the plane pictured above.

In addition to T-34's, the flying club had Cessna 172's, including this retread from an Air Force flying club, and another from the Andrews AFB Aero Club (tail pictured below).

As of this writing, North Island Navy Flying Club no longer exists. The base commander shut it down...
